You have to consider that the poster is a staunch vegan. Animal products are the great evil in his eyes.

Ahh well. That explains much. I am newly Dx'd, and am learning how to manage my carb intake. Even then, I find I cannot tolerate too much of the meat/eggs/bacon/cheese too many days in a row. Too high fat makes me nauseous. So I have to resort back to lighter fare for a few days. Salads etc.
But heck, I have a nice flock of 20 something hens who lay fabulous fresh eggs! it would be a shame not to utilize them.

There are other ways to get your fat besides meat/eggs/bacon/cheese.

70% calories from fat is not really that much fat and a lot of people overdo it including myself. I like my steak and BBQ and cheese etc and I am sure I go over sometimes but that is not necessary. This video explains it a bit better.

I already use olive oil, peanut butter, and nuts. I can't stomach the avocado's though. Today's fat gram total, (I use myfitnesspal), I have already topped my recommended daily consumption by 21 grams of fat. Oh, and consuming olive oil seriously helps my MS also. I started experimenting with that back in 1999.

Butter I cut back on because of gall bladder issues. And, the sat fats are not good with MS.

I am trying another remedy to lower my DH blood sugar. Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar mixed with water and baking soda. I know someone who does this by drinking this mixture 2 times a day and it helps. it tastes awful I hear.

It is alarming advice. Protein is known to stabilize blood sugar. Excess carbs, and starchy carbs, are known to destabilize it.

Protein raises insulin levels, BG not so much. Insulin is needed to metabolize protein. It's important to keep BOTH BG and insulin levels low. Too much insulin causes insulin resistance and weight gain, both of which are detrimental especially to a diabetic.
