I keep my portions lower and use chia seeds twice a day to keep me feeling full.
Sounds good.
Once I get out of the danger zone I'll probably try something simple like the No S Diet: No Snacks, No Sweets, No Seconds, except (sometimes) on days that start with "S".

B12 will do zero for you if you are not already deficient in it.
Losing 10 lbs in a week is going to be mostly water weight not unless you are very heavy to begin with. Healthy weight loss is between 1 and 2 lbs a week.
Your diet is very low in calories which will end up backfiring on you. Its all healthy stuff, just eat more. See your Doc and get some tests to see if in fact you are deficient in B vitamins. If not save your money. Do not expect to continue this type of loss. In fact your next week could be zero if your body decides to react due to the sudden large loss.
10 pounds in 3 days is a lot of weight. You must have been retaining a lot of water. It's pretty unlikely that you burned off 35,000 calories that fast..
The reduced calories, carbs and salt in your new diet should help you to take off even more weight.

OK, but why would I be losing all of that water weight so fast? If it's not the B12, what is it?

I believe that calorie intake increases as the diet progresses. There's a fairly radical first stage that lasts about a month, and then a gradual return to more balanced eating.

I do not know what your starting weight was but I think it's pretty safe to say 7 lbs of it was fluid.

Well, perhaps I was deficient. Hard to say. I'm reading that people tend to lose the ability to absorb B12 as they age and develop digestive problems, and I've had digestive problems for a while. But I definitely got an energy boost when I started the diet and have been passing much more fluid. Perhaps going cold turkey off of sugar, alcohol, and starchy food had something to do with that, along with eating a whole garden full of raw veggies every day.
My starting weight was 299.5 last Thursday (I'm 6'3" tall) and is 287 today. Doc wants me down to 205.
What is in your daily salad, what kind of dressing do you use?
