vacation, since I wouldn't spend that much money on any vacation I'd take. I'm more of a visit a national park and go camping type.. during the off season, or when staying in hotels vacationing on a weekday when they are 50 bucks a night. So a $3k vacation with family? I'd take it.
Since I'd be vacationing by myself, $3,000 should be able to get me a pretty awesome week long vacation. I don't really need $1,500 for anything, so I'd go with the vacation.
Me too, Feb. I could be happy pampering myself for a week.
There is nothing quite like wonderful vacation memories. Cash is quickly forgotten.
There's nothing like cash to invest and grow; Vacations are quickly forgotten.
Besides, you could spend the cash on something that lasts a long time, like a new washer and dryer, or some home improvement. A vacation is over and done and many people are more stressed out from a vacation than by normal daily living.
I guess this could be true if people took boring vacations. We are always looking for new corners of the world to explore, and we love visiting places we have never been before, especially outside of the States. We certainly remember our various trips quite fondly.

I don't either. But I don't have a problem with taking a $3000 vacation at someone else's expense.
Same here -- if this was some prize that I won where the prize was the vacation but you could accept less in cash. Definetely the vacation in such a case unless I was behind with bills.
