I'm sure you are glad...But if I was so immature I wouldnt of been able to plan a way to get out of here...

If you think its immature that I'm a little frustrated because my family is un-involved, only calls when they can use you for their advantage, doesnt try to contact me to see how I'm doing and is indifferent in person, then I beg to differ.

like i said...that has nothing to do with it.

If I wanted that here I would of specifically stated that; "They know I'm an escort and have refused me just because of that".

Now you have these people thinking I'm really a bad person, when my family was never told that!

It is fine to be frustrated, or hurt even - I never said THAT was immature. What is immature is your entitlement mentality that things OUGHT to be the way you want them to be (reminds me of a 2 year old - BUT I WANT IT!!). When you get where you are going do consider talking to a counselor at some point - once you are able to grow past this frame of mind you are stuck in and get some perspective, you will be much happier.

Things dont have to be anyway.

But they dont HAVE to be this way.

Next time I'll say to my friends, my car is too crowded, I'm not obligated to let you sit here...sit in the trunk! J/K

Whether they "have" to be this way or not, they are.

It is what it is - deal with it.

I am dealing with it...Thats why I made a new option.

Mind you...I wasnt asking anyone "How can I change her mind".

I had already made a decision and wanted to share my feelings. I can be very angry and emotional and people sometimes take that the wrong way. The personal attacks I've recieved shouldnt of been said.

Maybe you should stick with a studio in this new place and use the rest of the money to finish school.

Since the money situation is tight, here's some stuff you might not have considered that I found kept me from starving as a college student:

Transportation:

- Sell your car. Odds are your campus is walkable/bikeable and in a city with a bus system that'll get you from your apartment to campus. Get a bike, they're priceless. You can find a decent repairable one at thrift stores for $5-50.

- Pay bus fare and then pay attention to how they check fares. In a drastic cash shortage situation, it can come in handy to know when to get off the bus in a hurry should you happen to find yourself without the proper tickets.

Food: (try not to do this long-term, but it can help with making rent.)

- Pay attention to flyers advertising club meetings. A lot of clubs will have free pizza at after-hours on-campus meetings. Hang out on campus doing your homework until the meeting (usually around 6 or 7PM) then stuff your face. Pizza is pretty high in calories and 2-3 slices is good enough for a day, though you may get a little gaunt. It keeps for a day without refridgeration too, so hang out until the meeting is over and see if you can take any extra with you. Try to eat a piece in the morning as your brain needs the glucose to function. You need to drink a lot of water to process the fats and salts.

- Professor's lounges often have unguarded bagels, muffins, and coffee.

- $2 and a few pennies at McDonalds will get you two sandwiches which can get you through the day in a pinch.

Living:

- Sell your computer. Use on-campus labs. There's always one or two open any time of day or night.

- If you didn't sell your car, you can sleep in it short-term, sometimes inside city limits, depending on vagrancy laws. YMCA's have showers, but I prefer campgrounds as they tend to be cheaper and less busy.

It is quit obvious that your grandmother knows about your lifestyle and wants no part of it. Thus the rejection. Also remember, it is her son that is moving in. HER SON. Makes a world of difference. You are living way above your means. Beach front studio in Miami Beach. Whats your rent? $1500 to $2k a month plus a nice car and partying nightly and who knows what else. Like others have said, growup.

This is one of the most helpful advice I've gotten. BUT it may not fit me because...

The thought of selling my car (which I did in 2006 once) is a scary thought for me and will never happen. Besides I need it to make the 1,500 mile move next month..which will cost less than plane, train and bus, those arent options

Selling my computer is un-feasible because its how I do my work.

My metabolism cant survive off of Mcdonalds...I tried that last year and LOST 10 pounds.

How about this: move out of miami, continue my move where rent is cheaper, and keep things the way they are.
