I got one from a court. Terrifying. What happened to justice is blind.

The minute you get into politics, you risk angering one side or the other.

I'd rather they say, "Dear customer, we are working to help the nation recover from the pandemic and build future prosperity and jobs to benefit all people around the country!" and leave it at that.
^^^^This

I recently got an email from Lyft expressing their support for the protests (and not denouncing the riots). I unsubscribed and will not use them again.

Also went onto Air B&B to list my guest house. Was greeted on their front page with a black banner stating support for Black Lives Matter, AND asking for donations to this group. Guess who won't get my business...?

Now I am just 1 person and they of course could care less if I am their customer, but about half the country thinks like I do and that's some serious money.......

Businesses should stay out of politics. So should celebrities.

Those are societal problems not business issues, they should worry about staying out of politics and not pander to this social unrest.

Rioters are destroying businesses. Thus, it is a business issue.

Virtue signaling has jumped the shark. Lego decided to take it a step farther and tell their retailers to stop advertising and take off the shelves their police/fire/rescue and white house sets.

Virtue signaling and pandering has gotten out of hand because of social media. And with the cancel culture, companies and people are afraid of not having the "correct" opinion and the twitter mob descending upon them. It's all really sad.

It angers me that these companies have canned responses for things that really shouldn't concern them. It also bothers me that employees thing they can change a culture they don't agree with by rising up against the employer. If you don't like your companies policies fell free to resign and find a new job. There is always someone waiting in the wings to take your position.

It is a business problem if they have a physical presence. Not when I am getting emails from online etailers about supporting their business when they claim to pander to the unrest.

It is the same thing as Nike supporting the BLM movement. Nike only cares about brand image, they don't care if the stores are being looted because it's retailer problem not theirs.

Its the latest cause celebre. No investment required to virtue signal, so everyone with a marketing department is on this train.

If you see statements from Apple about the protests, it is all talk.

They're not giving away free iphones and the ones looted have been bricked by them remotely.
