Buc-ee's opening date is slated for 2024 on their website. Probably has to do with the interchange and road improvements that they are partnering with South Carolina Department of Transportation to do.

As a civil engineer, I'd say that's very likely. That interchange sucks. Like many of the interchanges along I-85 in the Upstate, it too is a design that worked 40 years ago but has been obsolete for years now.

In the southbound lanes, so not a thing in the world to do with the upstate location.
