Wind is the big concern.. There was talk of gusts in the 40-50mph range. Though I think that's been downgraded a bit now.

Seeing as the last one that ran through took a bunch of shingles off my roof.. I'm on the schedule to have it replaced.. So.. Kinda glad it's not going to happen before this one runs through.

Maybe we're playing the winter classic of it's always a week away. Maybe end of this weekend and into next week cooler now, perhaps.

Breeze this week has really emptied the trees around my property (up against the woods). But now my fence has trapped all the leaves...

As of Wed pm, looks like similar winds this week continue (10-20ish), and with gust to around 30mph. That should keep us below power/tree issues (May be an unlucky few briefly. Need closer to 40mph gust for issues tho really.). Slow moving system to our South should have time to weaken over land before zipping thru Friday.

Scattered rains later Thurs into Fri afternoon. Main issue may be the tornado risk late Thurs into early Friday.

My son, 16, is going backpack/hammock camping up in Mountain Rest area this weekend. Going to be downright BRRRRR at night. He's prepared though...zero degree bag, underquilt, etc....

There was that late season hurricane that passed through, so the new record may warrant a dreaded asterisk.

Maybe. But Paris Mountain was completely brown before the storm came through, and we were only a week behind.

In other local-ish news, it's been 10+ years since you could ski this early.

Looks like we’re stuck in an overall cooler pattern with repeated CAD setups thru end of the month (Cold Air Damming…cold gets pushed up against this side of the mountains) and when not CAD then cold front popping thru. I’ll take it since we’re into the holiday season (i85 would appreciate drier roads though)! Other than fantasy storms that always seem to stay a week away, not seeing any wintry weather yet tho it appears for now.
