I drove by the old Montgomery Wards building today, there doesn't seem to be any signs of construction going on inside for the new SuperPlay USA in time for a July opening. I would expect it to take at least a couple of months to retrofit that building with 30 plus lanes of bowling and the other stuff.

Personally, I hope it stalled and that building remains vacant. If it did, then maybe once the economy improves enough then they will tear it down and build a real development on site.

agreed, that parking lot and building need to be totally redone, I wouldn't even be sad to see the movie theater go, that whole area is just a waste of space right now.

I also agree. It looks like they are starting to piece meal this place together. There were such high hopes in the beginning. The economy will turn around, I think the developer should wait a bit longer and take a more grandiose look at this valuable space.
Any info about a "The Zone Grille and Tap" opening on Pelham road where the Mid-Town deli used to be? There has been a sign for it on the building for about a month and a half but I can't find any info about it anywhere.
-Red Bowl now open in Fresh Market shopping center
-El Patron now open at Woodruff Road/I-85
-Hoops and Hops coming soon to East Coffee Street downtown
GOTTA get over to El Patron! They're out of Anderson (3 locations there), and their Pollo Fundido is TO DIE FOR!
I have a question.... There was an Asian place in Mauldin a couple yrs ago that operated from a former McDonald's called Red Bowl. We ordered from there a couple times. Seemed pan-Asian, was decent, but not great. Then it closed a while back and a lingerie place went in at the same place. Now, is there a way to find out if that Red Bowl is/was related to this new one?
