They're putting another one here in Greer on Wade Hampton next to Fuddruckers. Other than Papas & Beer, Mexican is terrible in the upstate, for some reason.

Yes it is a sports bar. As I understand it Karrie, who runs Karrie's Deli at University Plaza out by Furman, will run the kitchen.

I'd imagine that's a matter of personal preference. Most of it ain't Haute Cuisine, but I've had great Mexican all over the Upstate.

I love Mexican food, but maybe I'm (much like you) not as picky as everyone else? Then again, the salsa makes it or breaks it for me. I love Anita's in Simpsonville and Compadres for their Salsa. Papas and Beer's salsa was just ok to me.

I agree. We don't eat out much anymore, but the Mexican we tried when we first moved here was quite bad. I thought Rosalinda Fonda's was going to be a good place after our first visit, but subsequent visits proved me wrong. And they served us the worst margarita in the history of margarita's. It looked like antifreeze and the taste wasn't any better. We left the margarita nearly full sitting on the table. I can't even believe it as I type this. I left a full margarita behind! It was that bad.

We went to Papas and Beer once for lunch. It was actually pretty good, and the beer is priced nicely. It's hard for me to believe that out of that entire bar of salsa's, someone couldn't find one that they like.

Mr. Salsa's in Taylors and near Furman U. is very good too. Try their vegetarian stuffed pablano pepper.

compadre's, along with Cantinflas, has to be some of the worst mexican food I have ever had! Monterey's is run of the mill, not great but not terrible.
