Good hairstylists do exist, right here in Concord,Ma. Doing hair for over 30 years. Started by cutting my dolls hair, graduated to guys in high school, then went pro. Weave, color and cut my own hair and my hair is very curly. I agree though. Find someone whose hairstyle you like, if they have the same type of hair and ask how they like their hairstylist. Remember that what looks good on one person won't necessarily look good on you so be realistic and plainly state exactly what you want. Don't start reading a magazine and ignore what the stylist is doing, especially the first time. Don't be timid about your quirky hair issues. If you don't like long bangs, have them stop before they get there and make sure they know how much you want taken off. People get so intimidated about asking for what they want and not asking for their money back if they are not satisfied. DO NOT go back to the person that screwed up your hair the first time...do you honestly think it will be better the second time? Get your money back or stop payment if they won't refund it and ask for someone else and interview them. O.K?
Okay, I will try a new hair stylist in about 2 hours. I know it's a bit adventurous two days before Christmas but I will risk it.
Keep you fingers crossed. Will get back to you with the result this evening!
I went and got my holiday haircut today. I should have stayed home and saved myself the $80 (includes tip). Everything was going good until I asked him to trim my bangs, and then the dope cut off too much.
I'm so tired of paying out the butt for these crap haircuts. Does anyone else out there feel my pain?
pissed off,
greenie
My wife has cut my hair at home for years. Our joke is that it's worth what I pay for it.
PS I do miss the nudie magazines in the barbershop. The last one I saw had Greta Garbo on the cover.
I've been cutting my hair for almost 2 years now. I've been coloring my own hair for.... 6 years now. I've done everything from pink (yeah.. I know), blue, black, blonde, brown, red - and everything in between.
My hubby not only lets me cut his hair.. but dye it as well. Which reminds me: I need to touch up his roots this weekend...
