OK, are you certain you are not confusing minoxidil, AKA Rogaine, which is generally applied topically, and is FDA approved for such, with finasteride, AKA Propecia, prescription only, which is generally taken orally at 1 mg daily? Minoxidil is a liquid and applied to the scalp. Finasteride is applied as a pill, taken orally.

Minoxidil is OTC and does not require a prescription to purchase. Finasteride is prescription only. I mean if you want to go buy some liquid minoxidil and drink it, well, be my guest, but it's a highly off-label application.

If you decide to be a guinea pig in your own uncontrolled "study" by all means fill us in on whatever your (statistically invalid) "results" are. Are you familiar with what a "double blind" study is?

As I said before, these 2 drugs are the ONLY ones FDA approved to treat Male Pattern Baldness. There is not that much hard science out there on MPB, and I think I have presented it in one line of text.

Compared to providing world peace or curing cancer, this is an easy question.

People have been trying to figure this out forever. And when someone does, they will make a fortune. Except maybe Rogaine, which I understand is a pain to use and maybe expensive? I don't think you can. I took huge dose of Biotin and it did nothing. Many people just need a placebo. Save your money. If anyone had cracked this code, we would have known ages ago. Sorry to be blunt.

Good grief. Minoxidil (Rogaine) has been FDA approved for treating hair loss for more than 30 years. It's available OTC and if you catch the store brand on sale it's not at all expensive.

How is applying a topical liquid to the scalp using a dropper "a pain" ?

I'm appalled at all the posters here ignoring the two FDA approved treatments, which I have posted several times. Good grief, why don't you at least start by trying one or both proven treatments? Am I the only one on here who understands what a "double-blind" study is and why that's important to avoid giving excess credit to placebo effects?

No, Hell, try some sort of herbal remedy that you read about on the internet.
