Where do you leave live? I'd rather drive 30 miles to go to Costco than go to a Sam's next door.

I happily drive right by Sam's to get to Costco. They don't even compare...Costco is so much better.

Looks like Jim 'N Nicks will be taking over the TGI Friday property on University Drive.

When I moved to Huntsville in the 80s, I was told Friday's paid a million dollars for the land. Wonder how much they cashed out for.

Not sure about the million bucks for the land, but for 2.0 acres, that'd be about $11.25 per square foot. That would be mighty strong for 1982 dollars!

Especially considering that in 1982, where Friday's was located was the absolute END of the city. And there were still cafeterias and mess halls on the Arsenal to serve the military lunch population.

As a matter of note, in September of 2014 TGI Fridays Inc. sold the restaurant/property to Southeast Restaurant Development-Huntsville LLC for $1,500,000.
