I have a Sensi by Emerson and it works well. NV Energy might give you a rebate of some of the cost. Installation is a DIY project.

NV Energy will give you an internet connected thermostat and install it for free.

Might want to search posts regarding the “free” thermostat from NV energy. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought they make you use the time of use hours and shut your a/c off during peak hours. There might be an over ride trick but didn’t trust them.

I bought my own Honeywell 9000 color screen model. Just another option. Remember too if you buy a thermostat from Amazon it doesn’t have the same warranty usually.

Time of Use rates and EcoFactor are separate programs. I don't need to look it up as I have had both for years.

A battery trickle charger needs to be plugged into the electrical outlet. It could be unsafe if unattended for a long period of time. Someone on Amazon reviews claimed this can lead to explosion.

Vented lead acid batteries vent little or no gas during discharge. However, when they are being charged, they can produce hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) gases, and also sometimes a mist of sulphuric acid.

The BKM is to keep the hood of the vehicle open so any gases can rapidly diffuse into the garage.

I've been doing this for 20 years and never an issue. I think it's an overblown fear.

Any need to turn off kitchen stove top's pilot light? I don't know how to turn it off/on actually. Leaving house vacant for around 46 days. (Also I got a fireplace too, ok to leave the pilot light on?)

You have a pilot light??? I haven't seen one with a pilot light in forever. Modern ones ignite via an automatic sparker.

Hi guys about shutting down the water to the house, do I just turn the valve to off position and that's it or I need to turn on a faucet until no water comes out? (If I don't do this I suppose pipes will still freeze and burst if it's cold enough? and just turning on one faucet is good enough right no need to turn on all?)

oh I don't even know lol, I don't remember seeing the pilot light anywhere. But when I turn on the stovetop it will click click click, is that the automatic sparker? house was built around 2005 to 2008 maybe it's not pilot light anymore? but either way I think just leave it no need to do anything if I leave the house vacant for awhile.
