To me that says, we need to STOP sending migrants to the US. End of story. Unfortunately it means send money, send help so we can keep helping all these people that are being sent to MA. Sad times for the state and for the US.

I listened to GBH show with Ask the Governor.
She said that they are waiting for employment authorization for them and without it they will not be able to release them from shelters.

And that people from Haiti are so smart they already know Spanish.. Apparently they spent so much time in South and Central America they've learned it. Why were they there?

In NYC, they're setting up tent cities for them...including in Central Park.

Some of them ended up in South America because they got on boats to take them there---the usual rickety overcrowded ones. Many of them ended up in Northeast Brazil. The Brazilian government didn't stop them or try to send them back. As for the other ones who ended up in places like Chile, I'm not sure how they got there.

Back to the link in the OP. This is what the governor wants MA residents to do:

"At the same time, we’re calling on everyone in Massachusetts to come together, help us meet this moment in our state, and offer a helping hand.”

^^^^Those of you who voted for the Dems need to now stop talking the talk and start walking the walk. After all, this is what you D voters voted for.

They were not recent arrivals to SA. Many kids speak mostly Spanish and Portuguese. This means they lived in SA for some time.

They are also being sent from Texas using money gathered by churches…

Um....Dominican Republic is on the same island. Cuba and PR are a stone's throw away. Central America isn't the only place on earth Haitians could have learned Spanish. Some Haitians have also been living in Mexico for quite a while after various migration waves to the area.

Who cares where they learned Spanish. Is that really going to help them get a job in MA? Wow.
