Invitation trends among Hispancs (Mexico) (home, place, outside, friends)

We have a few friends from Mexico but they never invite us to go anywhere. They are quite generous in saying that we could visit (invite our self) their homes. Or invites to specific large gatherings. We invite them to go places outside the home but invitations from them don't exist. Is this habit or cultural or ?
