I had a similar situation but used contact lens to achieve monovision. The DMV required that I get a form completed by my optometrist to allow me to get the license. It is correct that you only need 20:30 or better in one eye but the DMV machines are notoriously bad and do not give accurate results. An optometrist can supply the form to verify that you have proper vision to be able to drive.
when you return back to the dmv with the paper that dmv gave you to take to the eye dr.did you have to take the eye exam over at the dmv or did you just return the paper.
Does it make a difference on what line you have to read if you are legally blind in one eye? She made me read line four until she found out that I was legally blind in the one eye then she told me I had to read line 5. I have never been told this before and my perifeal vision is good in both eyes
