Or Catholic "Charities". I'm not picking on any kind of denomination here, but these so-called charities are ruining the country from Maine to Nebraska, from Oregon to Alabama.

And they're often doing it with your and my tax dollars. And then the first thing they do is hook people up with any kind of welfare they can. Ever wonder why the are importing people to the small towns too? It's not to help the newcomers, it's to destabilize (even displace) the current residents and diminish quality of life.

Could someone explain Lutheran Social Services to me? Never heard of it here in Minot. I'm looking for an opinion and not just a link to their website, please (I understand how Google works, for the snarky folks out there...).

A lot of charities are actually rackets which take taxpayer funds in the form of federally funded grants (of course they'll take money by any means they can, including donations) and then use those grants to funnel tens of thousands of "refugees" and immigrants into small town America.

The owners often pay themselves $300,000 per year, and I seriously doubt any of them actually believe they're "doing good", although some of their staff may believe that. The religious sounding names are often just a cover, although the larger ones do operate out of established churches, the smaller ones may not.

Side Notes: for those who may not know, Susan G. Komen is one of the bigger scams out there (different racket, but nonetheless) as is Wounded Warrior Project (and I'm a veteran, and the WWP is a huge f-ing scam bilking ordinary donors for tens of millions each year).

Not too many legitimate charities out there in this day and age. Many are rackets designed to pay the owners and operators first, and to "help" people 2nd. In the case of LSS and Catholic Charities they do what they do knowing full and well that the people they move into your and my towns will never integrate, will live for generations on welfare, will never convert to the religion these charities supposedly represent, and have a tendency to destabilize communities through crime, welfare use, high birth rates, and being drains on the local school systems (police, hospitals, etc.) without actually contributing to the tax base.

Don't forget to put the real blame where it belongs - our politicians in Washington, and they're on both sides of the aisle. The federal government is the one that sets immigration and refugee numbers, not the "charities".

Not too mention they are the ones who have set up the horribly loose definitions of a "charity" that allows this bilking to take place legally.

Lots of legitimate charities have been taken over by "boiler room" operations.

A charity that might have taken in, say $10 million from donations raised by volunteers get taken over by the professional fundraisers who promise them more money, say $15 million. Previously, the cost of raising the $10 million might have been a few hundred thousand. The total amount of money raised by the pros might be $50 million. ( All these numbers just examples. )

Now, the percent of money that actually goes to the charity changes from over 90% to under 40%. WWP had this issue. It costs a lot to pay the people at the top their multi-six-figure salaries and jet-set them around the country.

I can tell when "my charity" has been taken over when what used to just be a letter turns into "gifts" like cups, mugs, T-shirts, calendars, etc. that I don't need or want or ask for. Letters come multiple times a year. I get annoying insistent phone calls.

I think my alma-mater has now been "colonized" or "infected" or whatever. That's bad.
