Well, you won't find that in Dyer.

I'd look to Highland or Munster ... you'll be able to find something in that price range, but it will be older (50s, 60s) and somewhat smaller.

I just pulled up about 20 properties in Munster - older homes obviously, probably avg. 1200-1500 sq. ft, priced btw 150-165.

You may be able to find a townhouse in Dyer in your price range - newer construction too.

160K in Munster will buy you this - 3 bed/2 bath, 1350 sq. ft., built in 1946.

we saw that one online, the problem with a townhouse is we have 2 small dogs that have to go out alot. so we kinda need a private yard. and tend to be a bit yappy, so out of respect for others we need a little space.thanks for the help. JeffBoy

If you don't mind buying an older (but not very old) home, I think you may be able to find a place in highland. That is where I find the most available homes in the price range you gave.

I found one place in "Dyer"...it is really more into the St. John area...however, I do not know about how you may feel about the commute. It is easy access to 394 which connects to 94 to take you to Chicago, but it is still something you would have to consider. It is about $10,00 above the price range you listed but you should be able to get a lower price.
