Republican leadership has screwed this state up enough...under their leadership we continue to lose congressional seats...we continue to fall behind the rest of the country in quality of life.
Bill Maher goes on about this a lot…Democratic voters find any read not to vote for their party’s candidate while Republican voters will back anyone who checks the boxes on their gun & abortion viewpoints. We’ve had some great D candidates recently for state & national offices, but gerrymandering (along with the aforementioned apathy) has killed any chances of them actually succeeding.

Kind of throws a wrench in the whole "Tim Ryan has a good chance at winning a statewide election in a favorable-to-Republicans midterm environment in a state that voted 12 points to the right of the national popular vote in the previous presidential election" theory, doesn't it?

Default Shortage of OB-GYN specialists looming in Ohio's future

The ramifications of Ohio's more stringent abortion laws are much more pronounced than I ever considered. Ohio may become an increasingly more dangerous location for women, especially those of child-bearing age.

What specialist wants to be constrained in the ability to utilize the specialist's skills and training to the benefit of consenting (if not eager) patients? Also, who wants potential legal liability for their actions?

<<Richardson is nearing the end of OB-GYN residency training in Toledo, where she graduated medical school. She told Columbus Business First she had hoped to practice in Northwest Ohio with physicians and health systems she knows and trusts.

Plans changed when the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the constitutional right to abortion, and Ohio’s six-week ban that had been suspended by courts took effect almost immediately.>>

“I don't see a place for myself in Ohio,” Richardson said. “I’m a little sad, because obviously this is my home. You want to stay in places that need you the most.

“It’s really hard to not be able to practice medicine the way I would like to, and not be able to take care of my patients.”>>

That’s why he’s running ads eschewing the polarized party system, but it surely will be an uphill battle, even against a tool like JD Vance.

Clitorectomies are part of is-lamic societies, not Christian, nor European societies which is what America was originally based on. So to use that as an example of what Texas, Arizona, or Florida would do is frivolous, and baseless at best. Try again.

Strict abortion laws are a prerequisite for any state, or area I eventually move to. And there are many more just like me that feel the same way. So, however many Ohio will lose because of strict abortion laws they most assuredly will gain by those moving to Ohio for the same reason.

There will be a great migration going back, and forth between Red, and blue states, and cities. The abortion issue as well as other hot button topics will act as a catalyst in this migration. Expect it.

Question: Does any region prefer ideologues who impose, even when in a minority by corrupting the democratic and judicial processes, their values on others who don't share these values, or does it benefit more from science-minded individuals who respect human privacy rights and value the highest form of democracy and reasoned, honest, and objective debate?

Numbers don't matter IMO as much as quality. If we wanted numbers, we could open the flood gates to immigration, even bringing here individuals who do favor cliterectomies, and who deem women as the property of men and who oppose female education.

Modern women who value their control over their own bodies, quality health services for women, and gender equality will avoid Ohio, as will men who value these women. The negative stealth impact on Ohio's economy could be severe, especially on its premier health institutions. Consider that with remote work options, women won't be forced to live in Ohio in order to pursue job opportunities.

I'm especially disdainful of the "Big Lie" propaganda (e.g., corrupt elections) spouted relentlessly by these holier-than-thou, anti-scientific hypocrites. They claim to be moralistic, but worship politically immoral liars overtly intent on dismantling American democracy, and are contemptuous of the foundational American Constitutional value mandating the separation of church and state.

As is evident in the following poll, the upcoming political war over abortion won't be just over abortion, but also over democracy. Hopefully, voter suppression, gerrymandering, and overriding of the popular vote, even overt election corruption, will suffer mighty blows before the abortion issue is resolved. Strict abortion restrictions in America can prevail only if democracy is subverted and therefore eventually destroyed.

I'd say the same about Democrats. They're all about as evil as you can get. If you're going to use a blanket statement at least do it accurately.
