I dislike malls and shopping in general, but have to agree that an outdoor mall is better than an indoor one.

Yes, they do. Of course the visitors to a mall generally reflect the local population...and there is a very large Asian population in Irvine. Still, I see more people who seem to be "Asian tourists" at South Coast (and Fashion Island) than at the Spectrum. Several years ago, I recall noticing that every tenth person at SCP was a heavily pregnant Chinese woman. But they've cracked down on birth tourism, I understand.

Yea, I think I've seen a couple of birth tourists in my hood. I have mixed feelings about it.

SCP attracts the tourists because it has super high end stores, well beyond the Spectrum's roster.
