Thanks for the additional links. I am working on it but haven't gotten everywhere yet.

I did see an article about the successful creation of a drone testing industry.

22 parks, 60 miles of trails. 2 disc golf courses. Mountain biking northwest of town. Lots of youth activities.

Heard mention of a downtown club that gets some touring bands on the Boise to Portland route.

Regional bus service.

Mention of river walk is nice. Ice rink and golf course not for me but might interest others. Does sound like the town is busy working on improvements Some CEDS plans are not actively worked. Attention to affordable housing is smart, though rarely enough. I now hear the airport terminal re-do was substantial.

On surface, town leadership looks well qualified with diverse backgrounds.

Need to get on Google Maps to get a better feel for how the county population between Pendleton and Hermiston looks. Will look closer at McKay Creek Reservoir and wildlife refuge.

IF I split time in Pendleton, it would probably be some of the non-summer months. I am less bothered by winds than most people.

If schools are important, none in Pendleton are ranked better than 6 of 10, mediocre and most are lower. The high school has a 95% graduation rate but that seems less impressive given the ratings.

(Add Milton-Freewater and surroundings to Walla Walla metro and the population count is probably 75k plus and likely headed to 100k in intermediate to long term.)
