Yes, we do too, but my wife is retired now, and I work from home 3 days a week. If we expect a delivery we will be sure to stay home. Unfortunately that's not the same for many, but Amazon can ship to their work or one of their Hub Lockers. There is one about 5 miles from here but would be on my way home from work, if I needed it. For mail, I have a cordless transmitter in my mailbox, when it's opened a bell rings inside the house so we can go get it right away.

I went to my local target on Sunday afternoon around 3 PM. The entire self checkout area was shut down and because the original line up configuration would have been so far from the manned checkouts, they had about 60 people snaking through the store waiting to check out. I walked out without purchasing anything.

While self-checkout may be the quickest for an individual, overall I don't think they expedite large groups any faster.

Either way, it was great to see the checkout lanes fully staffed for once.
They have hired a lot of cashiers as before there were only couple at any given time so that's a plus. Those self checkouts were probably more trouble than they were worth with all the theft.
