Maybe post the rules again at the beginning of the contests so the newer members will have some guidelines to go by. After participating for a while it is easy to forget that there are a large number who don't know the basics of the contests.
Oh yeah don't forget to mention the new Corvette the winner doesn't get, or the envelope of cash and huge gift certificate for new camera equipment that is in the glovebox.
Btw, I didn't realize we had such a short amount of voting time... how long is it, anyway? I missed the voting altogether this month, which is a shame - there were some beautiful photos!

Will you be starting a thread for a "September in your home state" contest? I'm hoping that I might actually get a semi-decent photo or two later this month when we go on vacation; even though I realize that novices don't stand much of a chance with all the pros here, it's still fun to give it a try when I get a rare lucky shot.

Perhaps for the theme contests, we could know the subject two months in advance so there is no lag time.
