Cumberland Falls may be listed as such because it is 125 foot wide. Anglin Falls in Berea is just a trickle of water compared to Cumberland Falls. See the website below. You have to take into consideration the width and the height of the falls!

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

Perhaps I was confused between "largest" and "highest" since you mentioned the height. My bad. According to my friends at Google, based on vertical drop (searched for largest, though) Cumberland Falls lands comfortably in the 50th spot east of the Mississippi. I am sure there is a potential margin of error... but to move up 49 places in that order seems like a stretch to me. I am sure it is a beautiful waterfall in any event... just not so sure the local chamber of commerce was very accurate in their data. The 50th just does not have that ZING to it like the 2nd..

You didn't happen to capture a pic of the moonbow did you? It's on my list of things to do.

Great shots! I really like the lighting on the third and last one.

No pics of the moonbow yet and I have been to Cumberland Falls 10 million times in my life.

Looking Glass Falls in Pisgah National Forest - North Carolina. You can sure tell the Carolinas are in a major drought when you visit spots like this.

I knew there had to be a waterfall thread in these pages and I found one.

Like others here I too am a waterfall chaser. I seek them out wherever I go.

Some of the falls here aren't named. It would be great if all the waterfalls posted here would be named so I could find them on my travels. There are some gorgeous falls in this thread.

This is my favourite of all the waterfalls I've visited.

Multnomah Falls in Oregon.

Good capture. Nice steamy effect.

Outback Annie, I have been to Multnomah Falls many times and never saw it as beautifully as you've captured it in this "misty" photo and the frozen ones. Great job!

Thank you Nomadicus and PhogGal. I suffer for such shots as this one and especially the frozen falls shots. I had frostbite in my fingers for 3 days after those sessions. I stood in the rain for this misty shot. The older I get the lazier I get though so such shots are getting fewer and far between.

I shot many moods with this waterfall.

Here's another shot of the same falls. This is the lower section of the falls.
