Do you promise? I do hope you find your bliss ... elsewhere. But I suspect you won't. A city won't make you happy, you have to make yourself happy. And you can do that anywhere, if you try.

Remember this.... "Wherever you go - There you are". Once a whiner, always a whiner. You've become rather tedious so it's probably for the best if you move on. You were naive to buy into the utopia hype. Nowhere is perfect. You should have known that.

If you followed derniss's posts you could tell that this was a relationship that wouldn't last. Lots of "why is it like this?" and "why isn't it like that?" Too bad. Learn the lesson: no place, NO PLACE lives up to it's hype.

And yesterday derniss liked Portland! Here's a quote from a "Stumptown" thread she/he started. Guess something happened in the last 24 hours that didn't suit him/her. Yes, moving on is a very good idea.

One reason I like Portland (willing to put up with the gloomy weather and passive aggressive people) is that they have a good number of WF, and a lot of starbucks. It has made my experience positive!

ps. and for those New Seasons fans...I love going there too! I love New Seasons, I'm not anti-local!"

You had a great run Derniss!

Said a lot of things that gave people a different insight.

Your subtle trolling had the mark of an "arteeste".

I'll miss you!

I understand, I really do. Portland is NOT for everybody. As one poster pointed out, you would likely like Seattle a lot better. It would be ideal if everyone was able to scope out an area they're interested in for a few months (just a week or two really doesn't cut it), but that's an impossibility for most people.

Good luck to you.
