Where in the Bible if I may ask? I never really read the Bible. I was brought up in a Catholic School and saw all kinds of flaws by the Priest themselves. They are contradicting what these Priests are preaching. We happened to live close by their convent. They are Spanish Priests. This is in the Philippines. We see ordering truck load of beers and leaving the convent at 1-2 am and come back just before sunrise

I'll send you a PM with the verses & comments about man vs God contradictions since people get upset in the general forums..... as there is a whole section on CD devoted to religious topics.

We can settle this once and for all:

- Downtown/Midtown are full of loud d-bags and alcoholic welfare frauds
- All of the suburbs in the immediate vicinity of Sac are terrible
- Placer County is full of soccer mom suburbs and people who have never lived anywhere besides the suburbs
- El Dorado Hills seems nice

As far as conservative goes, I think, as someone who moved here five years ago and is not from here, California is really more libertarian than conservative... you see highly regulated pockets like the Bay Area and parts of Sacramento but the rest of the state is pretty libertarian. The reason Prop 8 won was because of outside influence in the election from groups in Utah, who successfully got the socially conservative (but reliably Democratic) vote of the Hispanic and African American blocks to vote for the Proposition. I think a lot of people were surprised that California would vote to outlaw gay marriage, but this was a classic case of libertarians not paying enough attention to the election.

California is more "purple" than anything, and I would argue that the three continental contiguous West Coast states (Washington, OR and CA) are far more Democratic in the sense of voter participation in the process than the rest of the country. That the result often is "more liberal" laws doesn't necessarily mean the state is more liberal.

When people start unplanting their legal marijuna grows in Placer and El Dorado Counties, I'll be convinced it is actually conservative.

This may be true. The truth is, Placer and El Dorado are basically conservative, but have something to offer for everyone, as there are highly active communities within offering alternatives. South Lake Tahoe is liberal, while Placerville is conservative, so the "farther you get up the hill" answer doesn't work. El Dorado Hills was conservative, yet has a large population from the Bay Area, which may tip the scale. For the 80 corridor, Auburn feels mixed, to me, maybe more liberal, but Granite bay and Loomis and Newcastle feel very right winged. Nevada county as much more liberal, by enlarge, but again has active conservatives. The general vibe goes, from most conservative to least, Placer, El Dorado, Nevada. I don't know if I understand where Amador fits in to this, but I want to say conservative. Sacramento is a mix, of course, based on sheer numbers, and as far as the vibe? This is where I think the libertarian post comes in.
