HI all,

I am inquiring about the safety of the Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley areas for our daughter and fiance. He is in the Marines and getting relocated there. He hated that base as he was there for training, but they have no idea how the area is around the base. They are looking to rent in JT or Yucca Valley. I have looked at crimegrades and it seems pretty ok there, yet still see a lot of red and orange areas.... which makes me nervous as we live in NE Florida and it is hard to really tell if those areas are safe, especially comparing them to here where we live in the green areas. Just looking for advice as they are still so young and can be naive when it comes to certain things, also, is there much to do there, we know Palm Springs is close, but a friend of mine said the city is crime ridden and dirty??? Please advise!
