98 degrees with a heat index of 109! Sheer misery!

I hear the carriage horses weren't allowed to work today. THANK GOD! Not fit for man NOR beast.

GOOD NEWS: Highs in the low 80s by the weekend.

My AC cranked all day. How did the first settlers stand it? I am a lot more acclimated than a few years ago, but its still brutal.
Where's the rain we were promised for today?

My AC is set at 80 and it didn't stop running all day, either.

I'm now downtown and the horses are back on the streets, even though my iPhone says it's still 93 and the heat index 106. Where do we complain about this?

We had a storm around 4:30 here in Statesboro. Cooled us down a lot. I can see more lighting to my north.

The first settlers were much smaller people.
My electric bill has dropped tremendously since installing one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If I leave the office, but forget to turn it off, I can just fire up the app, and set the temp. When I'm headed back in, I can fire it back up, so the place is cool once I arrive.

We got zip rain in Pooler. My poor veggies are coughing, so I was forced to water them manually. Such a strain.

Electricity generated with natural gas does not allow air conditioners to cool as good as that generated with coal.

HUH? WHU? Electricity is electricity, regardless of how it's made. Right?

Um, yeah....

Besides, our electricity IS still largely derived from coal fired plants... They bring in a trainload every day to each of our area plants - Kraft and McIntosh. They are enormous. They're emitting huge amounts of CO2, and Georgia Power filed to extend the deadline of the EPA's Mercury and Air Toxics rule, which takes effect on April 16, 2015: BREDL - Coal-fired Power Plants

Our state ranks third of all states in spending on coal for its power plants, although the shift is on to move to Natural Gas, it's a dirty legacy.
