I knew a guy in the 80s that was a prepper. He was wealthy and lived in a gated country club. Guy was HUGE on guns/ammo/bomb food......ready to eat meals. He had a substantial tool collection as well. So Franklin died, widow is overwhelmed. Guns got sold, ammo was given away (dozens of ammo boxes), bomb food went in the trash (we opened one, it was awful to eat).
I got the tools. Widow was younger and she lived to be 100 years old.
Moral of the story..........the end of the world likely comes after your day has come!

Having insurance like fire insurance and never having to use it, is not a bad thing... right?
Did you see where I said I was previously part of a co-op? Very few 'loners' will make it. Sooner or later you will need other people to provide that which you can not provide for yourself. Doesn't mean you have to 'part' of a community, but you better have a good relationship with one.
You're more likely to be the one who won't be trusted.
thats fine by me.
anything one cant repair, make or grow we need to learn to live without. a lot of it depends on one's life style anyway, I intend to keep it simple.
I'm naturally a recluse a hermit and the survival rate in such an already low population area will be even lower.
To address the ORIGINAL intent of this thread...How on Earth would GOOGLE know the answer? It's not like everyone reports this sort of thing...many preppers DO publicly talk/brag about their stockpiles, but the more intelligent among us do NOT.
As in the book, The Millionaire Next Door...if they don't say or shows signs of it, you will never know.

the only people I talk to are other preppers, best not to let the sheeple know too much.
