Not with a bang but a whimper....

(I can still remember my high school English teacher playing records of T.S. Eliot reading that in an utterly silly fake-British accent that was almost Monty Python-esque. I've never been able to take "Prufrock" seriously ever since)

The rapture is not biblical. There is mention of a "place of safety", for those who believe in scripture. Certainly God does not need to be involved in any scheme, am sure we can do our own destruction well enough anyway. HIV/AIDS didn't get us, maybe next time there will come along an exponentially more epidemic "virus"?

Default Something old and new

The Mayan civilization was capable of projecting time upon celestial movments to the tune of .00000 of a second. We on the other hand became capable of this in the early 80's with the help of IBM large frame com****rs. When it comes to math and time, God only knows how they could do it. That said, as many of you may have heard, on 12/21/2012, the Mayan's claimed this is the completion of this particular 13-Baktun cycle (5,125 years) on this planet. This date signifes a "recreation" of this world. The old social structures will pass away and a new one is to be brought foward. The interesting thing about this is today, the astronamers have coinsidently picked Dec. 2012 as a time when our solar system will break out of the "shadows" so to speak and enter a clear window of space that will alow our planet to be bathed in a completely different and far more intense light radiation from our galactic center, the milky way system. The astronamers have stated that we will be in this "galactic window" for 1000 years before our solar system once again swings out behind outer solar systems that will once again block this energy of the galactic center.
With sea level rise, you shift a fantasic amount of weight from the poles to the fracture zones of the sea floors. The north pole is migrating a unpresidented 5 miles a year through the bearing sea and into siberia. And people are still buying ocean front property. Its precisely this kind of ignorance of our world that will usher in a horendous death toll in a allready over populated world. Each one us will lay bare our personal level of spiritual atunement in these days of strife. Live, die...yes, no... the days of grey area litigation will be over! As the Budist's would say, YOU were born to die, prepare for it!

Oh, one good book on this subject is Tom Kay's When the commet runs. its on amazon used for a penny. He does a great job of looking at numerous prophets of the past and how they relate to John's Revelation. A fast read from great research. This is the best $3.50 you will ever spend on the subject.

The Answer

Then what is the answer?- Not to be deluded by dreams.
To know that great civilizations have broken down into violence,
and their tyrants come, many times before.
When open violence appears, to avoid it with honor or choose
the least ugly faction; these evils are essential.
To keep one's own integrity, be merciful and uncorrupted
and not wish for evil; and not be duped
By dreams of universal justice or happiness. These dreams will
not be fulfilled.
To know this, and know that however ugly the parts appear
the whole remains beautiful. A severed hand
Is an ugly thing and man dissevered from the earth and stars
and his history... for contemplation or in fact...
Often appears atrociously ugly. Integrity is wholeness,
the greatest beauty is
Organic wholeness, the wholeness of life and things, the divine beauty
of the universe. Love that, not man
Apart from that, or else you will share man's pitiful confusions,
or drown in despair when his days darken.

The world will end exactly as it began--with a Big Bang.. Now exactly how that Big Bang comes about? your guess is as good as mine.. it could be man made (because man is dumb enough to think he is invincible) or it can be natural... I opt for natural, seeing as how nothing we do is going to stop the natural course of evolution --IE- Global Warming, Pending Ice Age or Using Up Natural Resources.

As majoun perfectly said, the answer is in T.S. Eliot:

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

("The Hollow Men", 1925)

And enough of Jesus Freaks.
