LOL it's a tarantula. I thought they were common here, I'm new to Tucson so I'm not sure. I admit I almost wet myself.

They are pretty common, especially in the outlaying areas. Not bad things to have around really - they wont hurt you or your pets, and they will keep some pests away.

Yea I'm in the foothills so I see all kinds of strange things. As scary as that spider was, it was also quite beautiful and majestic in its own way.

Looks like a tarantulla. Is it furry/hairy? Leave the poor guy alone. He won't even bite you unless you handle him roughly or try to hurt you. Bite is not venonmous. I'd worry more about black widows.
