Well, what good does her opinions do?

I'd never consider working at Disney to be a lifelong plan, don't see how people can live on those kinds of wages while for years while living in Southern California.

Maybe since she came from such privilege, she doesn't get the concept of minimum wage type jobs progressing onto better things. We can't all be paid 50 dollars an hour for service type jobs.

As an heiress to the Disney fortune, anything Abigail Disney says about the brand beloved by millions worldwide garners attention. And she’s calling out Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger for his nearly $66 million yearly salary, saying he isn’t doing enough to rectify the huge gap between his own earnings and that of other Disney workers.

“Bob needs to understand he's an employee, just the same as the people scrubbing gum off the sidewalk are employees,” Disney said during an interview with the Yahoo News show “Through Her Eyes.” “And they're entitled to all the same dignity and human rights that he is.”

Iger’s paycheck last year was more than 1,000 times what the median Disney employee made in 2018, according to Equilar.

So what does she have to say when she asked about the IT layoffs where they were replaced with H1B visa holders that they had to train?

Probably crickets.

Swell, another high school job that'll eventually pay $20/hour. Whatever happened to "paying your dues?" That's what high school jobs are for.

If she is happy to have her dividend check shrink substantially.... oh wait, she isn't offering to forgo her share of the profits. She wants someone else to give up their income.

Abigail Disney's net worth is $500 million, inherited when her father died. Basically she hasn't had a job in her life except some social change videos - so she calls herself a film maker. Seems she can contribute more to an employee hardship than words. Is it not okay to make money as a CEO but it's OK to inherit a fortune based soley on being born into it?

Near Disney World is where I grew up, many of my friends growing up worked there - it was non-skilled starter jobs. Picking up trash, leading people into lines, flipping hamburgers, doing the speel on the Jungle Cruise tour. They worked there for a few years, maybe while going to college, and moved on. They aren't meant as career jobs.

In civilized and developed nations like Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands. Service jobs are often enough for individuals to sustain a decent standard of living. A nation of just doctors, lawyers and investment bankers wouldn't function. In order for a stable and balanced society to function basic service industry jobs must exist and those jobs need to be able to sustain an individuals cost of living.

People tend to conveniently forget to mention the personal income tax rates in those countries when they talk about how awesome their systems are. I wonder why...

And sometimes people forget to mention that:

personal income tax rate in country A(which can include provided education, healthcare, and retirement benefits) can equal or be less than: personal income tax rate + tuition + healthcare premiums/payments + retirement contributions in country B
