The thing is, I really don't want to do retail or be a server or anything in the public. I'm a professional and while it may be stupid, I'd feel embarrassed if a co-worker at my day job saw me working at a clothing store or something. So... what other options are there? I've thought about a call center, although I really don't want to do that. So I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone has any other ideas.
Why dont you sell stuff on ebay? I have not done it but I have heard that people make a living out of doing it...

I have done this years ago as this company would come to our school and use the football team for event security for things like Wango Tango and the like..

1. First it's very boring as you just stand in place for HOURS doing NOTHING and you might not even be where the action is you could be at a gate WAAAAAAAY over in a bus parking lot with a dumb yellow staff shirt on looking at the cars go by.

2. You may see a concert as a staff member but it's not the same as attending the concert for fun with a date.

3 The pay sucks.

Yes, sometimes this is true. When people think event security, they think that they're going to see the event, but it's rarely true. I have seen a few, but not many, and don't count on it. I do it strictly for the money, and normally work at an entrance gate, so I deal with people all the time. I do bag, id and credential checks, along with patdowns for the NFL. But I have stood around and watched nothing, so I know. The other alternative is a regular security company where they give you a regular site to work. But the pay sucks either way!

Like I said, as an usher. Big difference, and the ushers do get to see the show.
