The comfortable dining room is something of an Arizona State University hangout, with so many adventurous young foodies in Tempe. It’s also a vegan favorite. You don’t need utensils here—just some injera, a thin, spongy sourdough bread, for dipping. The food is spiced, but not overly spicy hot. Blue Nile has some nice combo plates that are perfect on your virgin voyage with Ethiopian food. Vegetables and legumes are common, as are stews, chicken, beef, and lamb. Try the Blue Nile Tebb, a beef dish with onion and green chili, or Tikil Gomen, a savory cabbage and potato dish. Open for lunch and dinner daily.
