Description: The Samoset sprawls across 230 acres right on Rockland Harbor and features 178 guest rooms and suites. Each has a marble bath, big TV, Wi-Fi, coffeemaker, and balcony or terrace overlooking the sea or the Samoset’s golf course. As of 2008, these chambers were undergoing a $3 million makeover, including new moldings, fixtures, lighting, window treatments, and down bedding, and the first three floors are done. A full-service place, the Samoset has a fitness center, two pools (one indoor, one outdoor), basketball and tennis courts, massage, a formal dining room, and a couple of less fancy options, the Breakwater Cafe and the Clubhouse Grille. You can sleep in and get breakfast delivered to your door or have a candlelit dinner served on your terrace.
