Description: The Timberwind was constructed in 1931, served as the harbor pilot boat in Portland Harbor for 38 years, and has berths for 20 passengers. Owners Robert and Dawn Tassi are especially eager to have you aboard, and, unlike many of the other windjammers, welcome families with children age five or older for their three-, four-, and six-day cruises.

Description: Not to be confused with Wooden Boat magazine, Wooden Boat Co. is a boatbuilding outfit in Rockport. They constructed the beautiful 65-foot schooner Heron, launching it in 2003. They offer a variety of cruises on a daily basis on the graceful vessel, including a lobster lunch ($65), a lighthouse-and-wildlife sail ($38), and a sunset hors d’oeuvres cruise ($50); the latter is a fine cap to a day spent on the Midcoast.
