47. Cakes ’N’ Cream Dessert Parlor

City: Branson, MO
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (417) 334-4929

Description: Half the fun of this place is the atmosphere, which is decidedly 1950s, with vintage records on the wall, a Wurlitzer jukebox with tunes of the time, and intimate round tables with sweetheart chairs. You can get homemade cobblers, pies, cakes (try the Black Forest cake), funnel cakes (topped with vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream), banana splits, and sundaes. They serve ’em up from midmorning to midnight seven days a week during the busy tourist season. They also have sugar-free ice cream and fruit pies for those with special dietary needs. When you see the costumed servers work at getting that rock-hard ice cream out of the containers, you’ll know why we wouldn’t wager anything on a blacksmith who might get into an arm-wrestling contest with one of them.
