Telephone: (479) 253-7401

Description: The chapel is just west of Eureka Springs on US 62. Designed by world-renowned Arkansas architect E. Fay Jones, the chapel seems like a jewel of light in its Ozark mountainside setting and has been called one of the finest examples of religious space in modern times. It rises to the sky like the forest that surrounds it. The chapel, majestic in its simplicity, has 425 panes of glass divided by a lattice of native pine. The chapel was honored as Building of the Decade in 1991 by the American Association of Architects and has been featured in numerous magazines. Since the chapel opened in 1980, more than four million people have visited this woodland sanctuary. Thorncrown Chapel is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no admission fee, but donations are accepted.
