Description: When the Kansas City Art Institute got a grant from a Missouri cultural trust program, it was able to renovate a small warehouse near its campus into a gallery and arts education space. That cash infusion begot more, this time from benefactor Henry Bloch, and voilà: a home-away-from-school for art students. The gallery hosts several exhibits a year that bring this concrete shell to life with ideas and vitality. Granted, a few exhibits have guests whispering, “Am I missing something, Edna?” but most are insightful works by very talented and as yet undiscovered artists.
