Description: This daily newspaper, owned by Gannett River States Publishing Corp., is the area’s largest source for local, national, and international news. The Friday edition contains a special tabloid insert called Weekend that includes information on area entertainment and cultural events, including the music show scene in Branson. While the Springfield News-Leader does devote most of its coverage to hard news and focuses primarily on the Springfield area, it also covers events in Branson. The Sunday edition, with a circulation of approximately 102,000, features a section called Life and Times, with feature articles on interesting people, events, and places.
