Description: Inquiring minds will get plenty of neuron stimuli at Springfield’s Discovery Center, a museum with dozens of interactive displays and exhibits on topics from archaeology to TV technology. Plan to make a day out of this one. School-aged children as well as preschoolers find plenty to do at this state-of-the-art facility. You can even rent the entire facility for birthday parties and special events. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for adults older than 60, and $5 for children 3 through 12. Children two and younger get in free. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Closed on Monday.

Tent Theatre alumni have gone on to become well known in professional theater and film or active in area theater and education.Recent productions have included Damn Yankees, Altar Boyz, The Miss Firecracker Contest, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Description: Directed by Ron Spigelman, the SSO features an eight-concert season that is a mix of pop and classical music.
