Description: Whether it’s the late golf great Payne Stewart or former pitcher “Preacher” Roe who draws you, you can find the entire gallery of Missouri’s sports legends memorialized here. The Hall of Fame and the nearby Highland Springs Development, one of Springfield’s most exclusive, was developed by John Q. Hammons. (You’ll see his name plastered on a number of MSU campus buildings and community developments.) The Hall of Fame is right next to the Highland Springs Country Club on Springfield’s south side. The spectacular homes are also worth the short drive through the park setting. To get to the Hall of Fame, as soon as you cross Lake Springfield on US 65, turn east on US 60. After a 0.25 mile drive to the top of the hill, you’ll turn right. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and $4 for senior citizens.
