Description: “The Bard Done Lakeside” or “The Bard on the Beach”—that’s how Insiders describe this festival. For about five weeks beginning in July, the event features noted classical theater troupes performing some of Shakespeare’s greatest plays. The magical backdrop of Lake Tahoe adds to the already perfect atmosphere—you’ll see why the event is voted Lake Tahoe’s best, year after year. Seating varies from general seats in the sand to assigned reserved seating complete with wait service. You can either bring your own picnic or purchase food at the site.
