Description: Children and teenagers staying at the hotel use this small arcade most of the time. It only has about 30 games, but they are all state-of-the-art video. The games start at 25 cents and go up to $1 for more advanced games. The arcade is open 24 hours per day, but the state’s curfew does apply (10:00 p.m. for children age 18 and younger).

Description: Camp Hyatt will take meticulous care of your children (if you’re staying in the hotel) and provide a challenging variety of activities year-round that even the most well-rounded child will enjoy. During the summer, day sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and night sessions from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. The program operates on weekends only during the winter and is limited to children 3 to 12 years old. The cost is $75 per child per session, which also includes a meal. Reservations are required.

4. Lake Tahoe–Nevada State Park

Description: This spectacular park offers wonderful recreational opportunities on its 13,000 acres. In fact, there are so many things in the park that a family could spend its entire vacation here, fishing, swimming, picnicking, hiking, camping, mountain biking, scuba diving, boating, and horseback riding. 5. Sand Harbor

Description: Although the beaches of Sand Harbor are the best around the lake, don’t come here if you’re trying to get away from other people. These white-sand beaches are popular, and the water is so clear that you can see the bottom of the lake regardless of the depth. Besides swimming and boating, there are nature trails for hiking. 6. Incline Skate Park

Description: Incline Village welcomes skateboarders to its park from 8:00 a.m. to dusk daily, weather permitting. Only skateboards and in-line skates are allowed, and adventure seekers must wear helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads.
