Description: Garryowen Irish Pub opened in summer 2007, taking the place of the former Hamilton Tavern that resided here for years. Owner Kevin McCready, an Ireland native, has brought his Irish love of music, talk, and fun to the pub, where you can relax either at the long bar or at a table and enjoy some traditional Irish fare. The menu offers homemade Guinness beef stew, Dublin fish and chips, homemade shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, and more. American fare, such as Angus burgers, chicken sandwiches, and mozzarella sticks, is also available. Description: Hong Kong entered the Gettysburg restaurant scene in 2005. It’s located in the Gettysburg Shopping Center, which is 3 blocks up Chambersburg Street from Lincoln Square. The dining room is not large, but it is nicely decorated with tables and high-back chairs. Serving Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese cuisine, Hong Kong is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and lunch specials are available until 3:00 p.m. The menu has dishes especially for dieters and a wide selection of lunch specials and combo platters. Description: This Italian restaurant has been owned and operated by the same family for almost three decades, and the experience shows. The menu is filled with a wide range of pasta dishes served in imaginative and traditional ways, as well as dishes featuring beef, poultry, veal, and seafood. There are also pizzas, calzones, and stromboli, and children age 10 and younger can choose from one of five dishes especially sized for a child’s appetite. The front part of Mamma’s has booths and tables, and there’s a cozy bar at the back of the room. To the left of the bar are many more seats that travel down a long hallway, so don’t assume that there aren’t any seats if the front part of the restaurant is full. Mamma’s serves lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sunday.
