Description: You don’t have to spend half your life under the hood of a car to appreciate the automobiles, motorcycles, and memorabilia on display here. Even the toys in glass cases look like they’ve been lovingly restored. The car collection spans several decades and changes over time, but you might find among the more unusual exhibits a 1926 Model T paddy wagon with bars on the rear windows, an airplane car, a 1925 Studebaker motor home, and a 1932 Ford dragster. What you see is all the more impressive when you learn that owners Bill and Peggy Napoli have done much of the restoration work themselves. They have a parking lot full of “project” cars waiting for the right owner to purchase and fix up. How about an Edsel? The museum, 2 miles south of Rapid City, is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon through Fri and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat, Apr through Sept. There’s no charge to look around the car lot, which is mostly open all year. Call ahead for winter hours.
