Description: Approximately 145 students in grades 7 through 12 attend this interdenominational Christian school, which opened in 1981. Accredited by the state and the Association of Christian Schools International, the school combines religious instruction with a traditional approach to basic learning. Students are required to enroll in a Bible class every semester and attend chapel once a week, and they must be committed to learning through a Christian worldview. A full activities schedule also keeps them busy in football (the team competes in two conferences), basketball, volleyball, track, drama, and more. The school bought the Hart Ranch Arena and 20 acres of land south of Rapid City and converted it into a campus in 2006.

Tykes up to age 3 enroll in the toddler program; from 3 to 6 they’re in preprimary, which includes kindergarten; and 6- to 12-year-old students receive elementary instruction. Extended care is available before and after school for students who attend Life Tree. All activities take place in open, sunny classrooms under the nurturing tutelage of Montessori-certified teachers.
