    Observation: Did not find test strips for checking concentration of sanitizer. Must have test strips to check the concentration of sanitizer at all times.

    Observation: Beverage area has become soiled and must be cleaned (especially inside the cabinets).
  • Material characteristics of non-food contact surfaces
    Observation: Back edge of hand sink and urinal in bathroom both need to be resealed, and the wood shelf in the can room holding the water heater has bare wood exposed. Wood must be painted or sealed.

    Observation: Bathroom hand sink did not have a hand washing sign posted. Must post a hand washing sign at all hand sinks used by food service employees.
  • Plumbing system maintained in good repair
    Observation: Toilet in bathroom does not work properly. Must repair or replace.
  • Drying mops
    Observation: Observed mops bunched up in the mop sink in back room. When not in immediate use the mops must be allowed to air dry to prevent contamination.

    Observed items in back storage room that appeared to be unnecessary to the operation of facility. Must remove any items that are not necessary to operation of business.
  • Smoke free air act
    Front entrance did not have official no smoking sign posted. Must post an official no smoking sign at all entrances per Iowa Smoke Free Air Act.
  • Test kit provided and used to measure sanitizing solution concentration
    Did not find test strips for checking the concentration of sanitizer. Must have test strips for checking concentration of sanitizer at all times.
  • Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems design, installation, and cleaning
    Coke cooler vent fan and RR vent fans have dust buildup. Must keep clean to prevent buildup of bacteria and spread of disease. Clean at a frequency to prevent such buildup.

    1) Chemicals were observed stored on the clean side of the 3 hole sink. May not store chemicals on the clean side of warewashing sink to prevent contamination. Must store on dirty side only. 2) Observed food items (gatorade chews) stored below medicine in retail area. May not store medicine above food/food items to prevent contamination. Move chews above medicine or to another area.
