Description: Alder House II is a glassblowing studio that welcomes visitors to view the ancient art of turning molten glass into vases, bowls, paperweights, and so on. The studio is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 15 through the end of November. The studio is located 4 miles south of Lincoln City off US 101 on Immonen Road. If you are coming from the south, drive 0.5 mile past the entrance to Salishan Lodge on US 101 and turn right on Immonen Road. If you are coming from the north through Lincoln City on US 101, you’ll cross the Siletz River Bridge and you’ll see Immonen Road approximately 0.5 mile from the end of the bridge. Turn left and the studio entrance is approximately 0.75 mile from US 101.

Description: The North Lincoln County Museum has exhibits and artifacts that depict the lives of the first homesteaders that came to the Lincoln City area. Exhibits of an early day classroom, bedroom, and kitchen with period pieces and handmade furniture can be seen. Native American artifacts and logging implements are also present in this museum. Admission is $2 per person over age 12. Children 12 and under are $1. Families are admitted for $5. The museum is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday from May 15 to October 15. During the winter months, October 16 through May 14, the museum is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The museum is closed December 15 through January 31 and major holidays.

Description: Spirit Mountain Casino is owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon. This facility on Highway 18 is more than 90,000 square feet and houses a casino (smoking and nonsmoking) with 1,100 slot machines, craps tables, roulette tables, blackjack tables, Let It Ride poker tables, Pai Gow poker tables, and a Big 6 Wheel. In addition to the fun gaming activities, the casino has the 100-room Spirit Mountain Lodge, a SuperPlay Kids Club that provides supervision for children from the ages 18 months to 12 years, four restaurants, and first-class entertainment. Spirit Casino is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, all year round.

Description: This winery produces fine Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris wines. The winery is located in a spectacular setting overlooking the ocean and has picnic facilities. The winery also features a one-of-a-kind gift shop where you can find unique wine-related gifts, nautical items, and original art pieces by featured Oregon artists. The winery is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June through October and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the rest of year. They offer free samples of all their fine wines.

Description: Be sure to stop and explore two museums run by the Lincoln County Historical Society. The Log Cabin museum contains maritime displays, a logging display, and exhibits that contain Siletz Indian artifacts such as beaded robes, headdresses, baskets, and tools. Adjacent to the museum is the Burrows House, which was originally a boarding house and now displays a collection of household items and furniture from the early part of the 20th century. You should also browse through the bookstore, which features many local history titles. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (June to September). They are open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday the rest of the year. Admission is free although donations are encouraged.

24. Alsea Bay Bridge Historical Interpretive Center

Description: Stop at this interpretive center to learn about the history of travel routes on the Oregon Coast beginning with Indian trails and leading to road routes. Photos of different coastal bridges are on display and there is also a model of the Alsea Bay Bridge. Located at the southern end of the Alsea Bay Bridge off US 101, the center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday during the rest of the year. Admission is free.

25. Cape Perpetua Interpretive Center

Description: The Cape Perpetua Interpretive Center is located 3 miles south of Yachats off US 101 on the east side of the highway. This center provides you with a wealth of information about coastal ecology, coastal tides and weather, whale migration, and exhibits about the Alsea tribe. You can also pick up a trail brochure that describes all the trails in the Cape Perpetua area. The center has a bookstore that has a good collection of titles on local history. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from May to September and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday from October through April.

Description: Located in a historic church, the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum contains a good collection of artifacts from the Siuslaw tribe. In addition, there are exhibits depicting the early life of those who settled in this area including a kitchen exhibit from the beginning of the 20th century. The museum is open noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission $3. Children and museum members are admitted for free.

28. Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area

Description: Learn more about the magnificent Roosevelt elk by stopping at this interpretive area to read the interesting facts about these beautiful animals—best of all you get to see a herd of 100 elk that feed in the adjacent meadow. Other wildlife residents you may see in this area include black-tailed deer, osprey, blue herons, and Canada geese. The best viewing times are early morning and evening. The interpretive area is located 3 miles east of Reedsport on Highway 38.

Description: The Oregon Dunes Visitor Center is a must-stop to find out about all the activities available in the Oregon Dunes National Recreational Area. The center has a film that gives you an interesting look into dune formation and numerous brochures that describe plant and animal life, hiking opportunities, and information on off-road vehicle use and recommended places to camp. Many interpretive programs are offered during the summer months. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from May 28 through Labor Day. During the rest of the year, the center is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

30. South Slough Estuary Interpretive Center

Description: This interpretive center offers a first-hand glance at an estuary ecosystem. The center is located adjacent to a large estuary that is filled with a variety of shorebirds and other wildlife. Several interpretive trails lead you through the rich maze of life that is present here. The center is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday the rest of the year.
