Description: Every night the tables are cleared from Blaine’s main floor, and the deejay cranks out dance music from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. (The deejay is live Friday and Saturday nights.) Many of the tunes are contemporary, while some are modernized dance mixes of older rock ’n’ roll favorites. The clientele is mostly in the 20-something age range, but those 30- and 40-something folks who get into dancing to a loud, pounding dance beat will love Blaine’s, too. Blaine’s is a full-service restaurant and bar, located on the corner of Parkway and Historic Nature Trail (formerly Airport Road). From the outside, the three-story building is reminiscent of a Bourbon Street facade with its upper-level porches and iron railings. Inside, the main bar, dining areas, and dance floor are on the second level. A smaller bar area with limited seating occupies the third level. Blaine’s stops serving food at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, which is when the dancing starts. At that time, there’s a $3 cover, and you must be 21 to enter (photo ID required). Blaine’s also hosts a big New Year’s Eve gala every year with four different packages.
